By now you know that Katz is the real deal when it comes to delicious gluten free desserts. They are by far one of my favorite brands and consistently come out with some incredible and unique gluten free desserts. They offer classic products such as gluten free powdered donuts, sprinkle cupcakes and not so common gems such as the candy cane donuts that are a bit hard to find. This review is about the crème filled chocolate cupcakes which are a classic take on the hostess cupcakes that I was very fond of as a kid. I’m sure you were too. Better Bites Bakery offers something similar that I reviewed very highly so how does the Katz version stack up? Read on to find out.
Ease Of Cooking (9.5)
Almost all of Katz products, if not all of them, require freezing. But what I love most about them, which sets them apart from other brands of desserts that require freezing, is that they don’t need to be thawed. I’ve bought gluten free dessert products that have required thawing which are a pain in the a** (excuse my language). Mainly because I don’t realize they need thawing until I’m ready to pull it out of the freezer and eat it. Then the brakes are hit hard when you see that it needs at least 4-6 hours of sitting out at room temperature. Thankfully, Katz requires just a few seconds of microwaving after being frozen. This couldn’t be any easier.
Honestly, I haven’t had a Katz product that I haven’t liked yet. Everything they make in my opinion is delicious and these crème filled cupcakes are no different. These are soft, chewy and filled with just enough crème to give you some in every bite. The top of the cupcake isn’t too hard either and is very easy to bite into making sure the crème doesn’t unintentionally squeeze out when biting in. It really is made perfectly. I think the Better Bites Bakery Mostess cupcakes are a bit more like the real Hostess cupcakes, mainly because of the swirly icing on top. But theses taste incredible, maybe even a bit better. Really though, you can’t go wrong with either cupcake.
Did I Get Sick (NO)
Katz products are gluten free and made in a gluten free dedicated facilities. You have no worries with this brand or this product.
It’s no shock that another Katz product review yields such a good score. I said it in the intro paragraph that this brand consistently comes out with some unique and stellar tasting gluten free products. These cupcakes are another must try from them.
