O’Doughs is known for their delicious gluten free flat bagel crisps. But their gluten free game doesn’t stop there. They also have sandwich bread (which I haven’t seen in stores yet) and flatbreads. This review is about their flatbread which comes in packs of 3 and is big enough to make a personal size pizza for 2-3 people.
Ease of Cooking (9.9)
This product couldn’t be any easier to cook. A lot of frozen pizzas get in the 9’s for this rating criteria but a lot of crusts (where you need to add your own topping) typically score in the high 8’s. Frozen pizzas and pizza crusts are inherently easy to cook due to the set it and forget it nature. These flatbreads were somehow easier than the aforementioned product categories. You put them in the oven without any toppings for 3-5 minutes, then add toppings, then put back in the oven for another 3-5 minutes. Quicker then most already made frozen pizzas and empty pizza crusts, easier then all empty pizza crusts and zero hassle.
These flatbreads were much thicker then I expected which I really enjoyed. This is odd because O’Doughs is known for their thin crust bagel crisps so you would expect this to be in line with that. But that isn’t the case. These flatbreads are actually thicker then almost all gluten free pizza crusts I’ve tried and rivals the Against the Grain crust, one of my favorites. The flavor was fantastic and the dough was soft and chewy. More importantly, it held up my absurd amount of heavy ingredients also (Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi, Bell and Evans GF Chicken Nugget pieces, garlic infused olive oil, shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese). I was extremely impressed with this product.
Did I Get Sick (NO)
O’Doughs makes their products in a dedicated gluten free facility and I trust their claims. My gut has always happily concurred.
This product deserves high praise. Especially if you enjoyed thick crust pizzas before you became gluten free or were diagnosed with celiac disease. If you can find this, I HIGHLY recommend them.
